Celebratory Cocktails

Negroni
Cocktail of the 20s
Though the origins of the Negroni are heavily debated, the quintessential formula of Campari, vermouth and gin remains.
BLOODY MARY
Cocktail of the 30s
Originally a mix of vodka and tomato juice, The Bloody Mary transformed into a spicy classic in the '30s and '40s.

Mai Tai
Cocktail of the 40s
Created in California in 1944, the Mai Tai has seen many variations. This recipe is a slight adaptation of the original.
Martini
Cocktail of the 50s
By the 1950s, the Martini would evolve into the formula that we still see today, and the long, leisurely Martini lunches enjoyed by office executives of the day, would firmly plant this classic cocktail in our memories of that era.

Whisky Sour
Cocktail of the 60's
The 1960s was one of the many decades of popularity for the Whisky Sour, and though there have been countless variations over time, the basic formula remains the same.
MANHATTAN
Cocktail of the 70s
The Manhattan, a timeless classic, has maintained a solid fan base since the late 1800s. Its resiliency was tested with the ascendency of vodka in the 1970s, a decade often remembered for overly sweet cocktails

Aperol Spritz
Cocktail of the 80s
Aperol was vastly popular throughout Italy in the 1920s and 30s, but it was a new advertising direction in the 1980’s that brought global stardom to this slightly bitter apertivo with the quintessential Aperol Spritz leading the way. Leading flavours of bitter orange, gentian, and rhubarb, this three ingredient, fresh and vibrant cocktail with a lower proof approach, casts a sunset like glow over summer patios around the world.
MARGARITA
Cocktail of the 90s
Conceived in the mid 1900s, the Margarita took influence from its formula predecessors, the Brandy Crusta, and the Side Car. The Spanish word for daisy is ‘Margarita’, quite fitting because a “Daisy” is a classic cocktail formula comprised of a spirit, citrus, and sweet liqueur. By simply rimming the glass with salt or sugar, a Daisy then becomes a “Crusta”. On the rocks, neat, or frozen, the 1990s saw an enormous rise popularity that still holds strong today.

COSMOPOLITAN
Cocktail of the 2000s
First published in 1934 as a gin cocktail with Cointreau, lemon and raspberry syrup, the Cosmopolitan was reinvented in the mid-1980s with vodka, cranberry and lime cordial. By the 1990s it was further refined, with the recipe calling for better quality ingredients, and popularized by Dale DeGroff, the “King of Cocktails.” In the 2000s, the Cosmopolitan rose to an incredible height of popularity with the influence of the television show “Sex and the City.”
OLD-FASHIONED
Cocktail of the 2010s
The Old-Fashioned, to many, the epitome of the cocktail and throughout history has experienced many wonderful variations in its evolution.

The Optimist
Cocktail of the 2020s
With flavours expressed in layers of simple complexity, The Optimist is contemplative without confusion, and touches on nostalgia while living in the present and embracing a bright, fresh future.
