Sweet & Intense
These fortified wines are embellished with brandy, either before, during or after the fermentation process, making them much more concentrated as a result. There are a variety of fortified wines with styles ranging from dry to medium and lusciously sweet. The drier styles are typically served as aperitifs with tapas. The sweeter styles are typically served with desserts or flavourful cheeses. Common flavours can include fresh and baked black and red fruits, nuts, spice, briny and savoury.
